Accepting Applications for International Youth Fellowship Leadership Camp in Irvine
The Royal Thai Consulate General of Los Angeles and The Thai Association of Southern California would like to invite young Thai-Americans interested in leadership and have community service experience to apply to represent the Thai community at the IYF Leadership Camp. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency Irvine in Irvine, CA and will take place from August 21 to 25 2011. The Royal Thai Consulate will pay the registration for the 5 selected recipients ($180 value).
This event is organized by the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) to allow youths from various countries around the world to get together for the purpose of exchanging culture and promoting mutual understanding among them. There will be many activities including seminars on various topics, cultural and musical performances, sports, and team-building activities. Food and lodging is included for the duration of the camp. There will be over 1000 youths from around the world participating.
- Conditions
- Must be able to participate during the entire Leadership Camp at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, from August 21 to 25, 2011.
- Must write a 2 page report about the experience at the camp.
- Qualifications
- Must be studying in either high school or college.
- Must have a father or mother who is Thai.
- Must have demonstrated leadership, and good communication skills.
- Must have community service experience.
- Application Details
- Interested parties may request the application form at the Royal Thai Consulate Los Angeles at 611 N. Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles, California, 90004. It maybe also be downloaded here or from www.thaiconsulatela.org.
- Applications are being accepted from now until August 16, 2011.
- Applications with accompanying documents should be submitted one of the following ways:
- Submitted in person Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Royal Thai Consulate General.
- Mailed to the Royal Thai Consualte General marked as International Youth Camp.

- Photocopy of photo ID
- 1 Picture
- Diploma and/or transcript
- Other supporting documents (optional), such as recommendation letters and community service hours.
- Selection Process
- The judges from the Royal Thai Consulate General and TASC will select the winning applicants based on the application and accompanying documents. If necessary, an interview may be requested. The results will be announced on August 17, 2011 and the 5 winners will be notified.
