Thai Association of Southern California & the Royal Thai Consulate General welcomes its first class of interns to the Thai-American Political Internship Program

Los Angeles, CA – Wednesday, July 20, 2011 – The Thai Association of Southern California (TASC) and the Royal Thai Consulate General (RTCG) welcomed its first class of interns. The eight-week political internship provides young Thai-American leaders who are interested in public service with an opportunity to gain professional experience in various offices of elected officials or public agencies in Southern California. Interns will get a hands-on experience in constituent outreach and the legislative process.
“This program aims to empower the next generation of community leaders and will provide participants with a solid foundation,” said TASC Vice President of External Affairs, Elnie Vannatim. “We’re very excited to welcome this class of future leaders”.
TASC & RTCG are pleased to announce the 2011 class of interns along with their office placements:
- Ron Ruangtragool (UCLA) TBD
- Angela Arunarsirakul (UCLA) Office of LA City Council Member Eric Garcetti
- Mevisa Poto (Fullerton College) TBD
The Thai-American Internship will be an annual program. Interns will receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion of service.
